JT was passionate about many things, but her compassion for others were greater. Less fortunate people, stray animals, always defending the underdog and those that couldn't stand up for themselves.
She once said to us, how very unfair and wrong and downright criminal it was for people not being able to get medical care because they were poor. That people with pain and illness shouldn't have to pay money to feel better. It broke her knowing that needy people were shown away based on what they had or didn't have.
I recall her taking dog food from home to give to a homeless couple with a dog without the means to feed it and she would get upset with me if I kept on driving without stopping to help stray animals.
She always had someone under her wing. So many that were rejected by others, outcast because they were perhaps different or not pretty or popular or skinny enough to be part of a group, she believed nobody should be lonely, ever. She stood up for anyone being treated unfairly and frequently got into arguments with people being nasty to others,
And God, she had a sparkle when she spoke about God, His things and how she was touched by the Holy Spirit. She was hungry for knowledge about God and often asked me questions that I couldn't answer without going to find answers myself. Her curiosity about God forced me to discover new insights and knowledge to strengthen my own faith and I regularly thought about her as my unwitting Pastor, teaching me about the Bible without her even knowing it.
My appeal to you reading this is to make her shine on. Help her to change the world, pay her back for the concern she once had for you, for the small things she did to perhaps lighten your own load. Even if it's just $5 per month, a dollar towards each program below, that's less than two drinks on a night out. (The donation pages will convert any donations to dollars from any currency)
You can help her to make a child smile, help her to give dignity and hope to a less fortunate girl somewhere, help her to help a helpless animal that is suffering by no fault of it's own and give the gift of God's Word to an illiterate or blind person somewhere.
Let's help JT live on, changing the world for the better, let's fuel the compassion she had for so many of us and for so many others.
